General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

I need some advice. Due to the success of Aperion Audio and my personal experience with the B&W VM package, and the quirky personality of the N-Center in regards to magnetic shielding, would using 5 identical N24 speakers, one for center, cause degradation or improvement in sound over the typical 5.0 setup? The speakers would all be ideally matched, but can the N24 handle center channel duties a lÃ¡ Aperion's Intimus 522??
P.S. What is the difference between original and series II Northridge (and Studio) lines?
NB: "listen for yourself to decide" is irksome here. TIA,
