I have never listened to McIntosh amps, but they are said to have a warm "tubey" sound. Just like the Electrocompaniet ECI-3 I have and liked with my Contour 1.3.After upgrading to the Contour S3.4, I found the Electrocompaniet (2x100W @ 4Ohm) to lack detail and dynamics. My old Rotel RB980BX power amp (2x150W @ 4 Ohm), when connected to the Electrocompaniet pre-out, sounded much clearer, without being bright or aggressive.
So my conclusion is that the S3.4 like detailed and powerful amps. Those that sound a bit too bright with B&W's might be just right for the new Dynaudio Contour.
