Dynaudio 1.3SE bass

I've got the 1.3 SEs and there's more bass quantity there than you think. It's a matter of getting everything right.

I've got them with the driver centres almost 2 metres - that's around 6'6" - from the wall behind, and around 1.3 metres - about 4' - from the side walls. That's centre of the room placement via the Audio Physic method, and the bass is quite solid down to the bottom of the double bass range. In fact it's surprisingly solid and you can physically feel it, though it isn't cave in your chest solid. It's more than solid enough for music but maybe not for HT. I don't have a HT setup so that doesn't worry me.

Placement closer to the wall would provide reinforcement that may give you what you want, at the cost of some hardening of the sound, a bit of lost air and imaging, and the gain of a mid bass boost.

I think part of the trick is mounting them on very solid stands and ensuring good isolation from vibration for all components. You also need an amp that can deliver the grunt on demand. That means it better have a good power supply. Wattage helps but I think the power supply is more important.
