they set basic rules for lots of stuff, and exceptions can always be made for a true potential customer. If you think about it, they probably implemented that rule to keep idiots from walking into the show rooms and stuffing their CDs into the players. 1) You'd have an out-of-control demo room and 2) there are those morons who would stuff in a damaged CD and try to claim it was the fault of the store's CDP. Since all you are trying to do is demo a pair of speakers with the intent of buying some, I'd be willing to bet they will accomodate you.Perhaps the store manager will come to understand that he needs to give his sales staff a hair (or maybe a hundred hairs) more leeway.
