I can understend your reluctance to take a drii to the rivets holding the circuit board to the speakers, bad things could happen. the solution is a moto tool grinding stone. They will work just fine in a drill as well. all you really need to remove is the head of the rivet and a mini grinding bit is about as safe as you can get. I would bet the little board is also glued as well. I would try sliding a thin bladed putty knife under one corner of the thing to find out. Assuming you can get the board off when you put it back together use tee nuts and real screws. EKG
