Replacing woofers

OK, total newbie here. I want to replace the woofs in my Pioneer speakers, HPM700s. I took the screws off, got the speaker out of the cabinet but how do I get the two wires coming from the inside off the terminals... I guess that's what you would call them?
They look like they slide on but I tried pulling on them but they wouldn't budge.
Do I have to pry open the clip like things a little to slide them off or what? I hope what I'm asking is somewhat clear and I realize this is like 'speaker 101' to most of you guys, but not to me.
