Re: How about concrete (nt)

Concrete has corrosive chemicals in the mixture and the water in the mix has nowhere to evaporate to when poured into a closed off tube. You will end up with serious corrosion problems. Concrete would work well if you make a mold and pour the concrete into it, then open the mold and allow the concrete to thoroughly dry. You can then paint or faux finish it for maximum WAF. No steel tubing, no ringing! Custom shapes are relatively easy and concrete mix is cheap. It's a great DIY project.
