I was inspecting my 14 year old AE-2's and noted that on one woofer the rubber surrounding the speaker was beginning to tear from it appeared wear. The speakers sound great so it doesn't appear to effect the sound. What is the reason for this round rubber piece surrounding a woofer on all speakers and should this wear/tear be a cause for concern? Thanks for any information you can provide.
