There certainly IS a "homer" mentality when it comes to the Detroit press's coverage of local heroes such as Iggy and Seger. You just have to sort through it and listen for yourself. Personally, I like Seger's and the Stooges' new efforts, but I can also see why some are underwhelmed or outright hostile. They're not to everyne's taste, but then again, NOTHING is.Iggy is a freak--plain and simple. I was a pretty good athlete in high school and college, but he does things at 60 that I couldn't do when I was 18. Not sure if it's to his credit or my embarrassment! :)
