Never

Who's to say that praise didn't go to my head a long time ago, and why should I care? Actually, I think the concept of letting praise go to one's head generally produces more positive results than negative ones, but it's the negative aspects of that sort of thing that people focus on. Not to say that inflating the ego should be viewed as a good thing necessarily, but when I was young, anything I did that garnered praise motivated me to want to get better at it.

If I were fishing for accolades it'd be quite a comment on my self-esteem, and I think there are probably better places to engage in that sort of thing than here. It's still nice to read when someone acknowledges a point.

I think Darius was spot on with that phrase, and it represents a lot of what I think is strange & wrong about how people think about rock music. It's important to try and keep an open mind, of course, but I still think it's rare that a rhythm instrument used otherwise produces a good result.
