Black Waterside is based on an old Irish Celtic song with lyrics. Jansch developed the beautiful guitar piece, and credits on his Jack Orion album are listed as "traditional, arranged by Jansch".
Paige left the lyrics out, put his signature (very nicely) on Janschs guitar piece, changed the title to "Black Mountainside" and took full credit.Gordon Giltrap has also performed "Black Waterside" on his tribute album to Jansch called "Janschology" - another very nice version. Giltrap credits "traditional, arranged by Jansch".
