"These artists tend to be one note wonders. Their sound never evolves, never changes. They hit the airwaves with some solid ideas but never expand on them. Both Matthew Sweet and the Smithereens came out of the box with some really good music but after three releases it gets a little bit old.
I'm starting to get the same feeling about the Foo Fighters. I don't think I can take another cd of Dave Grohl's singing....er...screaming."One can cite just about any recent artist/band having this problem.... The hard part is finding a recent band that doesn't.
This is a big reason why I mention "Aleks Syntek" all the time.... He's the only recent rock/pop artist I can think of whose musical style has constantly been taking new directions.
