Ringo wasn't a great drummer?

Well, no, he didn't have the chops of a Ginger Baker (pretty much no one else in rock has; Ginger, please recall, was a jazz musician first and foremost), the frenetic brilliance of a Moon, nor the thunderous invention of Bonham.
What Ringo had, however, is just as important: musicality.
He never "overdrummed." He kept perfect time, was inventive when it seemed necessary, and didn't overwhelm songs. Though of a very different sound, in these respects he is similar to another underappreciated fellow, Watts.
