Buddy The Cat... and Ry Cooder too...

I'm about half way through Ry Cooder's "My Name is Buddy", which comes out Tuesday, and wanting to find out more about the recording (since this advance promo has minimal info) went online and discovered...Buddy The Cat.

Soon to be "immortalized" by this, another record by Ry Cooder, Buddy can be veiwed in the attached link with the specific photo that inspired these recordings...

"My Name is Buddy" is a return to early, acoustic, folksy, blooosy Cooder, and fans of his early-mid 70's output should be VERY pleased.
Great stuff, though overall I prefer "Chavez Ravine" as far as surrealistic Cooder concept recordings go...

BTW: Cooder will be at Village Music on Saturday, March 10 signing copies of this new release. Village is in Mill Valley, Ca. and is a fantastic record shop dedicated to vinyl and American roots musics. I hear it's slated to close in September. Bummer... the place is an institution and cultural gem. (Kinda like Cooder!)
