Having found the original master tapes up here in Brisbane in the possession of the original mixer, Graham Lee has added this to the rerelease schedule of The Triffids catalogue.
Remixed by original mixer, Bruce Callaway and now with just about all the original completed tracks this is the record of the Triffids 5 days in a woolshed.
The new sound is fresh even if you won't be using this to demonstate the ultimate capabilities of your new megabuck system.
But its The Triffids stripped to basics and its glorious.
It includes early versions of s few tracks held over for Calenture, their first big budget album but here in a small scale low key format including a near country Trick Of The Light that could make you cry.
For anyone who never saw them play, this is a better place to start than the official live album.
Its rough and ready at a time when the band was about to conquer the world. When they were as good as any band you could name.
