Re: Forever A Frampstoner!!!

Saw Frampton's Camel inside our local Aud'torem, opening for J. Geils, around the same time halfnote saw 'em! He did indeed leave J. Geils with a hard act to follow(but Sactown being a boogie-type of town, fell into sway)! Was outside Winterland when his live album was recorded, & heard half the show from that Wally Heider's recording truck, until San Fran's finest chased us away! Pete really was a good guy, & that vibe shone through his "Comes Alive" album, along with an extremely responsive Winterland crowd! What hurt Pete's continued success, Todd, was manager Dee Anthony teaming him with the Bee Gee's on that ill-fated "Sgt. Pepper" movie. Pete lost all his rocker cred, especially amongst long-time Frampstoners, whilst being morphed into a pop idol. That Bee Gee's association came right as that "disco sucks" tsunami was spurring punk rock's uprising! Though Pete's image took a pummeling, though, his musicianship never waned. He was just as rockin' inside Sac State's Hornet Gym circa 1982 as he was co-headlining with Fleetwood Mac for them classic '76 Oaktown Days On the Green! Still enjoy his Humble Pie-era compositions-n-playing, when he was Steve Marriott's foil! R.I.P. Bob Mayo & Johm Siomos!!!
