...both Rice and Rowan are extraordinary talents. I heard Bryn Davies, the bass player was leaving. They have the ability to be virtuosos, but remaining silky smooth and musical.With Tony Rice material, I like the mostly instrumental material. My favorite stuff of his is the stuff done with "The Unit", "Backwaters" being my favorite. Manzanita is also masterful. The collaborations with Norman Blake are quite good also. I know one of TR's Martins is a special collectible that was owned by someone famous, but it escapes me right now.
I also heard somewhere that TR has/had cancer. Is that true?
