Ah, UC Berkeley. 35 years ago, a few of friends were students there. They took finals, while listening to Depeche Mode's then-new "Policy Of Truth."
Well, one of my friends, who is a Cal alumna, just helped her son move out of the dorms. In the process, she got all sweaty and icky. So, she decided to "re-live" the college experience, and showered in the dorm's communal bathroom. While showering, she stomped to Depeche Mode's "Policy Of Truth."
35 years ago ago, as a student at UC Santa Cruz, I was on the quarter system. Thus, we still had a month to go. We were not quite sure what "Policy Of Truth" was about. Some of us interpreted it as "being honest sometimes bites you in the ass." And therefore, "withholding information might be more advantageous."
Hahaha, and at a Santa Cruz beach, we took a stick, and tried to write our unfiltered thoughts. Regardless, 35 years later, we still like "Policy Of Truth," even if its meaning is ambiguous, nebulous, or open to debate.
