Ah, woodshop. 40 years ago, we were in junior high. Because of insurance, woodshops shut down shortly thereafter. Nowadays, if you want woodshop, you have to go to a trade school or junior college.
But 40 years ago, while we were in woodshop, Book Of Love's "Boy" was earth-shattering . First of all, girls weren't supposed to enjoy woodshop. They were supposed to like homemaking instead. But Book Of Love's "Boy" was about a girl lamenting that the boys she liked were gay. In a way, that song made it okay, for girls to like, among other things, woodshop.
"It's not my fault
That I'm not a boy
It's not my fault
I don't have those toys"
"I stay at home at night
And I play with my toys"
