Most of my friends leaned heavily into academics, and thus, were not into fashion and trends.

Now middle-aged moms, my friends still get the same types of shoes. However, while they recently tried on shoes, they were "serenaded" by Maroon 5's "She Will Be Loved." They can't believe that this song is, in essence, 20 years-old. It was actually played and heard in 2003, but wasn't released as a single, until summer of 2004.

Sophie Muller directed the video. In it, lead singer Adam Levine is with his young girlfriend. However, he sees the girlfriend's mom, played by Kelly Preston, in an empty and abusive relationship. There is tension, as Levine and Preston are attracted to each other. At the end of the video, it's left unclear, if Levine ends up with either the daughter or mom.

Uh oh, my friends are now of the age, where some of their kids are in high school or college. With the video for "She Will Be Loved" etched in our minds, we so far have not encountered where a young guy is with our daughter (left), but pining for her mom (right).
