My first exposure to LZ came with LZ IV through friends of mine and I kept up with the band from that point. Presence was the first album that was purely mine - ie. I bought it first and played it all the time from the day it was purchased. It's a great LP and my main memories LZ disk - but you're right it's the weakest LZ LP but it's still a good record.
For me it's hard to decide which of the first 6 is best. I'd have a hard time calling it Physical Graffiti because of record 2 - maybe if I just consider disk one.
