Years ago, when I reviewed XLO's Reference Type 5 speaker cable, I mentioned Saigon Kick's 1992 album, The Lizard, and its ballad, "Love Is On The Way."

In the summer of 1992, the media shoved rap and grunge down our throats. Nothing against rap and grunge, but those same media stopped playing other genres of music. Thus, my friend had a thirst for anything but rap and grunge. Thus, "Love Is On The Way" was a welcome antidote to the rap and grunge overload.

I still recall the late afternoon those same friend came over to my house, and listened to The Lizard on the NAD 5000. In the early evening, I did my Hokubei Mainichi newspaper route in and around Japantown. I washed up, and met my friends at the Johnny Rocket's on Fillmore & Pine. I think we had 8 or 9 of us, with 3 or 4 girls. We flipped through the tabletop jukebox selections, and wished we could play/hear "Love Is On The Way."

It's not saying much, but on account of internet radio stations, "Love Is On The Way" probably gets more play now, than it did 25 years ago, when it was released.
