That special was supposed to air at 10 PM last night on my local PBS station.

Prior to that there was some 1960s music special on, hosted by Michelle Phillips of Mamas & Papas fame. That show ran over, and had frequent interruptions while the local bow tie PBS types were hitting the audience up for money during their fundraiser.

I figured they were running late due to the telethon, but hung in there, waiting for the Sgt. Pepper's special. At 11:30 PM another musical special started, hosted by Tommy James.

The James hosted show was listed in the directory at starting at 11:30 PM, so they were right on schedule, except that they totally blew off the Pepper special, without so much as a mention.
