Released in the Fall 1997 quarter, "Valentine" by pianist Jim Brickman with Martina McBride was a popular number. It first took hold in adult contemporary, and then spread to dances and the high school girl market. And if it was beloved by you and your audiophiles friends, even better.
I found it kind of smart and interesting, that "Valentine" did NOT come out in January or early February, an obvious pandering to the 2/14 holiday. By coming out in the Fall, "Valentine" captured the back-to-school and holiday seasons.
Later this year, we will be commemorating "Valentine's" 20th anniversary. But for now, since it is Valentine's Day, go ahead and enjoy it with your loved one(s).
