In the late-80s, we had albums from Nuclear Assault. I have no idea when (89-90?), but my friends and I saw Nuclear Assault at San Francisco's Warfield. I *think* Voivod opened.Nuclear Assault's Dan Lilker came from Anthrax, and then went on to Brutal Truth. I am not familiar with Brutal Truth, so I'm not at liberty to comment.
John Connelly went solo, as John Connelly('s) Theory.
Glenn Evans did a solo project, called C.I.A.
As anyone cruising Rocky Road knows, the 80s and early 90s had a wide variety of pop music genres. I may still have CDs from that era of bands like Bolt Thrower, Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, Cynic, Death, Entombed, GWAR, Malevolent Creation, Morbid Angel, Napalm Death, Obituary, and Pestilence. When these bands came to the Bay Area, they played in a trio of small clubs: Oakland's The Omni, Santa Clara's One Step Beyond, and San Francisco's The Stone. Because of the Recession and the post-earthquake blues, those were intriguing times.
The classic photo above is from late summer 1990. My cousin is sporting the Giants cap; KJ is in a UC Santa Cruz shirt; I have the gray Iron Maiden "Aces High" t-shirt; and my brother is wearing a Nuclear Assault cap purchased at that concert at the Warfield.
