I got hipped to them about 23 years ago by a bandmate who said I played bass like Holger Czukay of Can.
I said "Who?!?" You couldn't find their recordings at all at that time and I had no idea who they were.
He made a tape for me. I realized his comment was a compliment. Over the years I've found all their stuff, but the
last 10-12 years their recordings have been mostly readily available..
They became very influential in a lot of music we ended up playing, though I never played bass like Holger Czukay.
