Jagger's twitchier than ever... and certainly NOT my first pick for a blues tribute, but I suppose having his name associated with it means something to
someone in 1985. Talking about 2120 South Michigan and Chess and mentions BB King and DOESN'T mention Buddy Guy?!? Miss You?!?
Program was poorly edited though I'd like to see more of the performances.
IMO Keb Mo, Beck, Mr. BG, Shemekia Copeland, Derek Trucks and the backing band ( Booker T.,Narada Michael Walden on drums and Jesse Johnson on geetar = badass ) were superb.Trombone Shorty had good energy. Looks like the Obamas had a blast, but the woman sitting next to the First Lady didn't look very pleased most of the night, except a sweet smile for Mr. BG, who deserves all the sweet smiles in the world...
Loved that row of vintage amps set up with plexi baffles blocking the sound so no one in the first row had their hair ruffled.
Overall not a bad night for the Blues...
