'I know a lot of white boys who can play the blues. I never yet heard a white boy who could sing the blues.' And while I can't tell from listening whether an instrumentalist is black or white, I believe I can ALWAYS tell whether a singer is black or white. And I prefer black singers. Used to enjoy Mayall, Butterfield etc., but see/hear no reason to listen to them again since I heard the original blues singers. Of course, I have an even stronger preference for NO singer, but that's just me.
