HP has placed on his "Super CD" list:
Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 4. Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture. Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Marin Alsop (conductor). Karen Chester (producer); Marc Stedman (engineer). Naxos 8.555714This is the very first CD I have picked up because of its placement on this list. Well, sheesh... this recording sounds pretty darn lousy and uninspiring to me.
David Hurwitz, on ClassicsToday.com, begins his review of this CD with:
"This constricted sounding, uninspired disc need not detain us long." I wish I had seen his review first. What gives?
