Picked up a bunch of good stuff today:Argerich and Abaddo doing Tchaikovky's 1st Piano Concerto
Glenn Gould playing Bach's Well Tempered Clavier, Book 1
Glenn Gould playing various Bach (French Cto's, etc. . .)
Jansons conducting all 6 Tchaikovsky Symphonies
Pogorelich playing Chopin's Preludes
Bolet doing a Liszt recital
Andsnes playing Greig's Lyric PiecesListening to Gould do WTC bk1 right now, and really liking it. Interesting, other's I have heard play this tend to sound a bit "samey" in each piece, which leads to a feeling of monotony by the end of each CD. Not Gould, he seems to be very concerned with giving each piece a unique feel, a personality.
Next up is Argerich, want to see how this compares to my other recording of her on Philips with Kondrashin conducting. I hope DG's sound quality is a little better than the Philips sound quality.
