My favorite LP of all time is still the old Highland Pageantry disc of pipes and drums. My grandfather (native Scot) gave it to me and it has been played on everything from a Sears Close-N-Play to a Basis/Graham/Benz combo (only once! And that was to record it to CD-R. The thing has almost more surface noise than music!) and it still stirs my blood today. Massed bagpipes are certainly an acquired taste but once it gets to you, its majesty and beauty are awe inspiring! I often listen with a wee dram o' Highland Park single malt but I stop just short of putting on a kilt!
