There is a very high level of documentation that Karajan was far from a Nazi and was despised by Hitler, and it is a documented fact that Hitler put him on trial for marrying a woman with jewish blood.I offered hard, documented facts, NOT rationalizations. You have not offered a single fact, only your personal dislike.
I never said the man had no shortcomings, he most certainly did, as do I and you also I presume. I simply said that to paint him with a broad brush of Nazism based on a popular myth without reference to either the facts or historical circumstances is wrong.
Despite my presentation of documentary evidence and fairly detailed discussion, nobody has presented substantive contrary facts - only emotion, and a need to hold onto a dislike of HvK for reasons that may not be right.
Hell, one dolt virtually accused me of being a Hitler lover and Nazi just for suggesting that the HvK-Nazi connection isn't as cut and dried as some make it out to be.
I tell you, that just makes me think that those who condemn HvK as a Nazi have some deeper, not too kind agendas.
But in the end, the music is much more important to debate.
