I'm not familiar with this Schubert set, but I'm VERY familiar with both Nimbus and Goodman/Hanover Band. Most likely, the recording quality will be thin, with some excessive reverb...it's the Nimbus way (they are our of business BTW).Goodman/Hanover Band have recorded, on different labels, an outstanding set of the Schumann Symphonies (RCA) as well as many of the Haydn Symphonies (Hyperion). They are alert, energetic and worth exploring. On that basis alone, $30 seems like a very small cash outlay for a LOT of great music, with the potential for some good performances. You can always seek alternatives later...
