I have to agree with you, Mike. The Prestige recordings are wonderful, as was "Birth of the Cool" on Captiol. But things went rapidly downhill after the Plugged Nickel sessions.

And guys like Sweets and Roy Eldridge played much more interesting music much longer. And you forgot Pops. The Hot Fives and Hot Sevens disc are some of the best jazz ecordings ever.
