Home Music Lane

It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

Re: Oops.

Hi there, Dirk!
since there is nothing like "the" Rendition, at least some of these have to be known if one is really interested by Bach's work:
Szering,
Milstein,
Grumiaux,
Suk,
Menuhin's 1st rendition in the 30s (mono!),
and maybe Hillary Ahn? I never heard it, but if i am not confusing her recording has a serious reputation!
Personally, my favorite rendition was given at station "ETOILE" in Paris' "Metropolitain" 15 years ago, by an anonymous fiddler... and when i do listen to beloved Arthur Grumiaux playing the Great Chaconne, this is this unknown violonist i hear again and again...
Have a nice day, BTM
