I am most decidedly NOT an opera fanatic. I have, perhaps, only a handful or so of complete operas in my collection. The Fricsay is one of them. And if I were forced to cull, several others would bite the dust long before I'd give up the Fricsay. There's just something special about that one. (Also acquired an early stereo pressing of the Bohm recently, but haven't had a chance to listen thoroughly.) Do give it a listen.Happy spinning,
