Home Music Lane

It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

Brad Mehldau again (Hey Mike!)

We've a small radio station near Lisbon that I really love.
Those guys hardly talk and have a good musical taste, mostly classical with some jazz.
One of these nights a heard two or three hours of good music and e-mailed the radio station to identify it.
They replied mentioning Keith Jarrteh's La Scala (I & II?) and "several works by Brad Mehldau starting with 'From this moment on'".
No need to say I never heard about Brad Mehldau before. I was very interested in some sort of Bach he was playing.
I searched the archives (of course) and read most of the existing 93 messages. I understood I'm not alowed to listen to BM with exploring Bill Evans until the end :-)
Since KJ played here, ages ago, and was silent for almost half an hour, kidding the audience, I lost interest on him. Moreover, the few works I heard after the Koln Concert didn't appeal as much.
Now, please remember I read most of the archived messages. Most of them refer to tracks and musicians I never listened to.
Asylum sponsor CD Now lists the following titles:

Introducing 1995
Alone Together 1996
Vol. 1-Art Of The Trio 1997
Vol. 2-Art Of The Trio 1998
Vol. 3-Songs 1998
Vol. 4-Back At The Vanguard 1999
Vol. 5-Progression-Art Of The 2001
Elegiac Cycles 1999
Places 2000

I understood some of you like Places and others don't like Elegiac Cycles.

Should I start with "Introducing"? I'm really looking for some kind of Goldberg & Brandebourg :-)

Regards,

Jorge
