It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

The Mengelberg is fantastic...but SO old. I heard Koussevitzky on the radio probably 10 years ago now, and it sounded like NO OTHER -- but that performance hasn't been issued on CD. The best modern recording I have is with Barenboim and the CSO on Teldec. Ignore any biases you might have against this conductor (I know I have more than a few), the Teldec 4th is the best recording on the market. For me, it holds its place as the third leg alongside Gergiev's 5th and 6th for modern recordings.
