Eleni Mandell's Snakebite (Space Baby - 555). Just picked it up today and boy is it good. Kind of like Polly Harvey singing with Tom Waits' backing band. No, maybe not, she has a better voice and the band isn't that chaotic. Dark dreamy pop music. Instruments include acoustic guitar, double bass, violin, cello, marimba, vibraphone, piano, pedal steel, and various clangy percussion. The sound is good, nice production values, but up front. I haven't had this much fun since the last Trailer Bride disc. I think Cowboy Junkies fans would like this one, as it has a similar dark langorous feel as their early albums. Yummy stuff, pick one up.
