It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

Double-Whammy on KBAQ Phoenix

D'Indy's "Symphony on a French Mountain Air" by Charles Munch and the Boston Symphony, followed up by the Wagner's "Entrance of the Gods into Valhalla" by George Szell and the Cleveland Orchestra...

The D'Indy was apparently performed early in Munch's Boston tenure... The "Koussevitzky sound" was present in its full glory... The two greatest ensembles ever assembled near their primes, back to back, and both performances gave me a big time adrenalin rush... You just don't hear performances like that anymore... (And in spite the Szell performance being about 20 years later, it was obvious, even through FM, the Munch performance was far-better-recorded.)
