Hmmm Neil, I'm afraid that for your mental health it would be best if the Weather improved a bit and you can chime in singing 'Woge, du Welle! Walle zur Wiege' While driving through the Wonnige country, Waiting With Wellgunde and Woglinde, those Wild sisters, because I'm getting a bit Wobbly and nervous about this change of Wagnerian attitude of yours. This severe Winterdepression makes you listen to Rampal playing a flute?Oh well, Siegfried also needed a Waldvogel to guide him to the Warm embraces of Brunnhilde, that Wonder of a Walkure.
Rampal is reputed to be very good, but there's a new Frenchman on the scene, who also happens to be the first flutist of the Berliner Philharmoniker since a couple of years now. His name is Emmanual Pahud and since I don't listen to flute-music I can't recommend a single recording, but the rumours circulate he's worth checking out.
"Wohl besser da unten!"
Yeah Alberich, the sewers rule. It's out there and down here.
