I knew I was in trouble after the first paragraph -- "hearing is the most important sense because it conveys emotion" (what about ugly faces, frowns, scowls, smiles, tears, winks, nods, uplifted noses, I wondered pressing forward against my better judgment?)By the time I neared the end, the water was coming in over the top of my hip wader boots, viz--
