I saw the BSO Friday at Tanglewood perform Sibelius violin concerto (Joshua Bell) and Mahler symphony 1 with de Burgos conducting. The Mahler was absolutely excellent, comparable to my Kubelik reference CD. I had never heard of Burgos, but he did a great job. The audience was also very appreciative.There is nothing like Mahler live.
