I'll bet Dan Morgenstern (author of the original liner notes) had a cow when he found that the CD version had no applause and had dropped the charade that this was a live date.
I haven't heard the LP (OR the CD) so I can't speak to the sonics. The tapes I have were purportedly copies of the master tapes used to produce the Columbia LP. Given how they sound, I would bet that the LP sounds WAY better than most (or any) other Bud Powell recording. The tapes sure sound a bunch better than that You Tube.
I'd forgotten about the Cannonball Adderley role. Thanks for posting the back of the LP.
