fwiw, one disappointment was that one of Berlioz' most inspired, other-woridly effects was completely lost. In the soft parts of the Sanctus, there are occasional soft taps on the bass drum and cymbals simultaneously. The cymbal was completely and consistently inaudible where I sat in orchestra center, row J. I guess the hall acoustics sucked up the shimmer of the cymbals more than the performers realized.
