When it comes to a few of B's late works, including--I'm ashamed to admit--much of Missa Solemnis, I applaud myself for making it through to the end.The piece looks good on paper but is a bit Reger-esque, IMHO. An example of Beethoven trying too hard. I like the Sanctus, though.
