The Poulenc was new to me when played yesterday, Jeu de Carte heard maybe once or twice over the years and only vaguely familiar so really an album of new music.
Munch really brings the thunder on the Poulenc and the Stravinsky, like his Petrouchka, lets you see the dancers just hearing the music. The recording is well-engineered and Symphony Hall, (do they record at Symphony Hall?) shows what a great hall it is. Good stuff!
