So I am new to the whole field of Classical after spending the past 50 or so years listening to all sorts of Rock and Blues. I just picked up a copy of The Brandenburg Concertos, Academy Of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Neville Marriner (Philips - 6769 058) in pristine condition on vinyl.
I have listened all the way through and it is an beautiful piece of music. I am hoping someone else has heard this version and can tell me if it is considered good or bad. I would also like recommendations of other versions on vinyl that are considered excellent variations of this piece.
Other recommended works are also welcome.
Thanks in advance.
