The glow of the Berlin strings is irresistible in the quiet moments, and Stade's voice beautiful. Was disappointed is sound quality during disturbingly loud orchestral interludes. Unfortunately EMI used German engineers instead of their own team. But still, if you only know Desmoire's (sp) and Ansermet's, K's is quite a wallow and uniquely riveting in the closing pages.
