I have numerous recordings of the Franck sonata and almost every one sounds as if the piano is in another room. What is so hard about getting a balance between the two instruments? Am I wrong or doesn't Franck give the piano and violin equally important parts? I never think of the piano as merely accompanying the violin.
Of the two in the picture, who plays what? Methinks the comely lass is on violin. No?
And my guess is that she is married. Otherwise, her German roots seem dubious.
